Ok - seems a few years have passed by :-) Since I'ma currently working as a full time Debian developer in Munich I wasn't much interested in programming in my free time. But here comes the long overdue new release v0.1.37. It has a few new features, like automatic hyphenation and audacious support. Seems that XMMS is now really phased out by the distributions, so I should think of stabilizing it. On the other hand I would like to move all text handling to pango... Anyway, as always get the latest release in the development area.
BTW - I don't think the changelog for the release is accurate, as this release brewed here since two years.

Originally I wanted to place the release on 11-11 (carnival), but some more bugs showed up and I decided to do some debugging on the weekend. Finally v0.1.35 is ready, so get it here.

After 3 weeks holiday in Spain I plan to release v0.1.35 at the end of the week. So please check the latest development snapshot. I got myself a Kubuntu Breezy install, which uses NTPL (which my SuSE 9.2 does not) and SingIt showed many timing / freezing problems, which should be fixed now.

I'll be on holiday for about 2 weeks, so I thought it's a good idea to release the fixes I made since the large version 0.1.30 development release.

It's been a long time since I did any release. I moved to Munich for the job, and wasn't very interested in hacking SingIt for a long time. But the project got reanimated a few days ago and I have put some time into karaoke recording and playback with ALSA. Just get the latest snapshot...

Back home since one week. And after a little bit more testing finally a new development snapshot. And - taataa - a new release to, which fixes problems with VBR file lengths.

Just if some people are wondering - no I'm not dead just on a trip throught Europe. So no development. I will be home in about two weeks. I'm travelling with Inter-Rail and my ticket will be finished then.

I'm back to Germany since last week. There is a new development snapshop. Main new feature is the XOSD based displayer by Nicolas Adenis-Lamarre. A few more bugfixes, but I don't have much time - to much stuff to do after the nine months in Ireland. And I'm going to the "Kieler Woche" ths weekend. I hope I can really do some development at the beginning of July. Some more interested developers out there???

I just uploaded a new development snapshot. For the next two weeks I'm on holidays, so no work and no mail. There are still a lot of bugs in the code and that's the reason I don't release it as a new version.

New development version. Using old build mode, which is fixed by the new libtool 1.5, and fixed a few other errors.

Just again a new version (v0.1.27). Since v0.1.26 won't run until installed in "home install mode" and the new libtool version finally fixes the "relink" install problem I switched back to the old install scheme. This version has a known error in the new karaoke window displayer but otherwise should run.

New development version. Lots of cleanup and two new translations (it, fr). No real new features (maybe except the frame limiter), but a lot of new code.

Just a quick note that I pushed a new snapshot today.

One week ago I got an old (PII) computer from the university. Not really sufficient for hacking xmms visualisation plugins, but it has at least enought memory. So the development has made some progress in the last days. I hope to release a new version in the next week and there will maybe be an additional programmer in the project. Seems I have to learn some CVS basics :-) Stay tuned.

Finally a new development release. There hasn't been much progress, but I thought it would be good to release something every 6 months ;-) Here goes v0.1.25...

Obviously no real progress had been made since the last few months. I'm not sure how the development will continue. All ideas to get a computer have failed. Since I will get a new computer in my office in Cork (which should have been there since October 2002), I can maybe continue to do a little development. 6 Months to go in Cork.

Ireland status: I will definitly stay in Ireland (Cork City) for at least for 9 months. Tow days ago I moved to a house in Cork near the local university (UCC). I will study at the CIT. I hope to buy a computer in the next week so I will be able to continue hacking on SingIt and fix some new known bugs. Stay tuned.

Hi everybody. I will be on "holiday" for ~ 2 weeks in Ireland (Cork). I will leave at 7th September. There will be internet access at the university at Cork but there won't be any linux system in reach, so there won't be real support for this time. Maybe you start populating the SingIt user mailing list (Hint, Hint, Hint).

The new SingIt development version (v0.1.23) supports a new lyric visualization in the SDL displayer. SDL is enabled by default now. The SDL displayer should be much more stable.

One month is gone since the last version. Here comes v0.1.22. The main focus was the integration of G-Force into the SDL displayer. There are still some bugs left but it will take more time to fix them, so I choose to make a new development version.
There is also a new stable release v0.0.7. It should fix a compile error and is mainly an adaption to the latest tools.

Few days ago I created a mailing list for SingIt users.

Back from Ireland - and finally a new development version after one month. Visible changes are the - very experimental - SDL displayer and the time indicator inside the karaoke widget.

Just a new development snapshot - for the next week I will be in Ireland (no linux / maybe mail). So don't expect replies to your mails in the next 7-8 days.

Finally passed the colloquium (1.0), had some free time and here comes version 0.1.20. I finished some features, moved some to 0.3.x and cleaned everything for a final 0.2.0 version. There are many ideas left, but they may require major rewrites, so I move them to the next development versions.

3 hours ago I finished my thesis which I wrote together with a friend and we made the final printout - I just have to make a hardcover version in the copy shop in the morning and pass the colloquium in 2 weeks (not really afraid of it) and 3 1/2 years of studies are finished.

I'm proud to release a new development snapshot (v0.1.18) - three important things to mention:
  1. Moved the config file
(To preserve your config simply copy .xmms/config -> .xmms/config-singit)
  2. Some keybindings have changed
    (expl.: CTRL + p = config (preferences) window / CTRL + c = individual displayer config)
  3. I got the first patch for the plugin!
2002-02-14
JMG
The actual development snapshot has some improvements compared to v0.1.17. Mainly I fixed some bugs in the OpenGL plugin and the key processing in the editors timestamp mode is improved (does work this CAPS-LOCK (=shift) and / or NUM-LOCK). Just give it a try.
There are still problems with the OpenGL viewer - gdb catches segfaults in the NVidia drivers...

JMG
Ok - new development release: v0.1.17.
From a request I moved all dates on the page to ISO 8601, so we have YYYY-MM-DD notation - better to sort. Send me a mail if I forgot one. The next release will also support it it.
